Seneca Gaming Crop. Enters Next Phase with New CEO

Seneca Gaming is ready for the next phase of its gambling operation with the official appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer. Kevin Nephew is the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the tribal gaming leader marking an important milestone for the Native American tribe, as this is a very special appointment.

For the first time ever, a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians has become the leader of the tribal gaming corporation aiming to achieve more down the road. Over the past 18 years, Seneca Gaming has been working towards this goal and this month saw the official announcement. Mr. Nephew will take the place of Holly Gagnon.

President and Chief Executive Officer

It could be recalled that the spring months of this year saw the end of the contract of Ms. Gagnon. May 31 was the last day of this agreement and the gaming leader had to appoint an interim President and Chief Executive Officer. The announcement coming only days ahead of the official exit of Ms. Gagnon made it clear that Chief Financial Officer David Sheridan is fit for the position.

He has been leading the tribal gambling leader over the past couple of months, but now it is time for a change and the introduction of a permanent President. Rickey Armstrong Sr., Seneca Nation President, stated that Mr. Nephew is about to set the tone for innovation and modernization of the tribal gaming field in New York State. With his entrance in the structure, he will aim to be a good influence for the younger generation needed during these trying times.

Projections are positive when it comes to extensive gambling operation across the state and the expansion planned for the upcoming years. Mr. Nephew has been part of the structure of the gaming leader ever since 2014 and his most recent position was Vice President of Organization Improvement and Development.

He also has more than two decades of experience in the finance field, as well as 15 years of experience as Director of Financial Administration for the New York State Office of Technology. These factors made him a suitable candidate for the promotion making him the leader of Seneca Gaming Corporation. Mr. Sheridan will now have to return to his previous position as Chief Financial Officer.

Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in Niagara Falls; Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino in downtown Buffalo; and Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca are the three gambling hotspots overseen by the tribal gaming leader. The tribal casinos employ about 2,700 individuals and provide them with a reliable income regardless of the unprecedented situation across the state of New York.

Following several months of no in-person gaming in the venues, the month of June saw the gradual return of Class II and Class III locations. All safety and health measures were implemented on their premises ahead of their reopening, preparing them for the flow of casino patrons ready to give their luck a try.
